It features an integrated foam shell that surrounds and encapsulates the air cylinders, adding benefits that can't be duplicated by air-only products. The shell's two-part perimeter bolster system provides stability when the user is sitting or transferring.

On top, the Geo-Matt anti-shearing surface forms a comfortable, therapeutic interface between the cylinders and the user. It absorbs and smoothes sharp pressure drop-offs that other surfaces can't, while the air system does the "heavy lifting" below, alternating weight-bearing across the surface in 10 minute cycles.

The PressureGuard APM is ideal for aggressive or even critical prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, especially when skin breakdown does not respond to lower-level products. Use this mattress when a patient can't or won't reposition frequently but has at least one or two ulcer-free weight-bearing positions.
