The Fisher Scientific 225 is a versatile centrifuge that easily handles the rigorous demands of day-to-day use in clinical or industrial labs. It can also be used for educational applications. It features continuously adjustable speeds up to 5100rpm, creating centrifugal forces up to 3400xG.

The unit shown includes a 12-place rotor. For an additional charge, the Fisher 225 can be fitted with a 24-place fixed-angle rotor to accommodate loads up to 360mL. The unit can also operate a variety of Thermo IEC rotors for even greater versatility.

The control panel includes a 30-minute timer, a solid-state speed controller and electronic brake. To begin a run, simply set the timer for the appropriate run time. Or set the timer to the HOLD position for an untimed continuous run. To stop a run, use the electronic brake to bring the rotor to a complete stop within ten seconds (depending upon the load).

The Fisher 225 provides exceptionally safe, quiet rotation. A wide margin of impact strength is built into its extra-large guard bowl, which is formed from a single piece of chemical-resistant, cross-linked polyethylene. The lid opens wide to permit ready access to the rotor. And a hole in the lid allows insertion of a mechanical or photoelectric tachometer.

The series-wound ball-bearing motor is permanently lubricated. RFI limiting circuit suppresses noise from controller switching and motor brushes. Three vibration-isolating feet support the cast-iron base to ensure quiet operation with maximum stability.
