For almost 70 years Hospira has built a business around pharmaceuticals and drug delivery systems. As a medical equipment and supply manufacturer, Hospira has been a ground-breaking company. In the 1940s and 1950s Hospira introduced the first fully-disposable I.V. administration set, setting the precedent for industry and company firsts in the years to come. In 2004 Hospira acquired the core global hospital products business of Abbott Laboratories adding on to their infusion pump systems lines as well as other medical equipment areas of manufacturing. Hospira is headquartered in Lake Forest, Illinois with a presence on every inhabited continent on Earth.
